There are few things more beautiful than the sunrises and the sunsets in Los Cabos. While the sunsets are glorious all over Baja California Sur, seeing the sunset over Lands End and through the arches of Cabo San Lucas is very special. And there is no better way to see them than on board a yacht.
The crew of the 80′ Ferretti 760 yacht Patron create a very special evening for their guests when they want to see the sunset and have a very special dinner on board. Greeted by Captain Sebastian, cocktails are served by Brenda, the butler, which were specially created by Sonia, the onboard mixologist. After a few minutes, the guests are led up to the fly deck of Patron where the view is best. Leaving Dock M in front of Solomon’s Landing in the Cabo San Lucas marina, Patron slowing makes its way through the marina and its yachts and mega and super yachts. Moving along the coast with soft music playing, Patron takes its guests up to see Lover’s Beach, Lands End, and the arches leading through towards the Pacific Ocean. Cruising around Lands End, Patron slowly makes its way back toward Medano Beach. As the crew explains, it is best to enjoy your dinner when the yacht is at rest rather than at sea.
The dining table on the main deck is set with beautiful place settings and glasses for the dinner. Guests work out the dinner that they would like based on food preferences and any dietary restrictions. In this case, the first course is a salad with romaine lettuce, walnuts and feta cheese served with a choice of dressings. The appetizer for the meal is shrimp in an aguachile sauce with avocado, cucumber, tomatoes and shredded carrots, and fresh crackers. As the appetizers are enjoyed, the guests watch a helicopter take off from the deck of one of the yachts anchored near the Rui in Cabo San Lucas. The sun starts to set in the west as the guests take a small break before the main course. The main course is the Catch-of-the-Day, Cabrilla, which is similar to Sea Bass. The grilled fish is served with mashed potatoes, cubed avocado, carrots, broccoli, and asparagus. Each of the guests have their choice of wine or cocktails to complement the dinner prepared on board by Chef Antonio. The final course is a light white cake. After eating, the guests enjoy their wine and watch as the sun sets behind the hotels and marina of Cabo San Lucas and Lands End in the other direction.
As the sun is finally going down, the yacht Patron makes its way slowly back into the marina and its place in the docks. The crew have done a fantastic job of taking care of the guests for this four-course sunset dinner on the Sea of Cortez.
